How to improve the efficiency of lead smelting in reverberatory furnaces

Release time:2024-08-23 17:10 Views:

There are many factors that affect the reverberatory furnace lead smelting. Only targeted improvements can improve the smelting efficiency. Adjust the charge ratio in time. The soda-sulfur concentrate reverberatory furnace smelting method can be used. Depending on the composition of the slag, a small amount of coke or an appropriate amount of lead concentrate and iron filings are sometimes added. The proportions are: 5% to 6% soda, 2% to 8% sulfur concentrate, 1% to 3% coke, 18% to 25% lead concentrate, and 6% to 8% iron filings. Soda is added to reduce the melting point of slag and copper matte and make sodium matte, improve the fluidity of slag and matte, and reduce the lead content in slag and matte. It is required to contain pure NaCO3>95% and be in powder form. The purpose of adding sulfur concentrate is to supplement the iron and sulfur content of the charge to ensure the required amount for making matte. SiOforms slag, FeS enters matte, S, Cu, and Na react to form sulfides that enter matte to reduce the lead content in matte and allow the process to proceed at a lower temperature. Requirements: H20 <8%, S>30%, and particle size <5mm.

The purpose of adding coke is to reduce PbO to metallic lead and maintain a certain reducing atmosphere in the furnace, prevent oxidation of the upper layer of the charge, adjust the distribution of sodium in the copper matte and slag, and reduce the lead content in the slag. The requirements are: carbon content>65%, particle size 10~30 mesh. Lead concentrate is added to supplement the sulfur content of the charge, because the affinity of copper to sulfur is greater than the affinity of lead to sulfur. The metallic copper in the slag reacts with the lead sulfide in the lead concentrate to replace the metallic lead and generate copper sulfide. Since the specific gravity of this sulfide is smaller than that of lead, it floats on the surface of the lead liquid and is removed. Requirements: Pb > 60%, Si0<5%, Zn <5%, particle size <5mm, moisture <8%. The main reaction formula is: PbS + 2Cu = CuS + Pb. Iron filings are added to reduce the lead content in copper matte and slag and increase the copper-lead ratio of copper matte. The main reaction formula is: PbS + Fe = Pb +FeS. Due to the change of raw materials, the composition of slag also changes. This requires testing of each batch of slag, calculating the amount of flux required, and adjusting it based on actual conditions to ensure the normal physical and chemical reactions in the furnace.

Starting from the above perspectives can effectively deal with the factors that affect the reverberatory furnace lead smelting, thereby improving efficiency.
