The rotary anode copper furnace currently mainly uses heavy oil or liquefied petroleum gas as fuel for heating and insulation. The quality of combustion is directly related to the temperature of molten copper. In general, the operator only needs to observe from the furnace mouth or the observation hole installed on the burner or from the joint between the combustion chamber and the furnace body. If the flame is green and the furnace is white, the combustion effect is relatively good. If it is dark red, it means that the combustion effect is poor. The direct heat utilization rate of the rotary furnace is 8%-15%, and more than 60% of the heat is carried out by the flue gas. The factors that affect the combustion effect are as follows:
1. Control of the air-oil (natural gas) ratio: If the air-oil ratio is too low, it will cause incomplete combustion, low furnace temperature, and redness in the furnace. If the air-oil ratio is too large, the heat loss carried away by the flue gas will be large. 2. The combustion chamber is condensed with oil coke and cold copper, which will block the burner, prevent the combustion wind from entering, and the combustion effect will be poor. At this time, the flame should be turned off in time, and the oil coke and cold copper in the burner should be cleaned up quickly. 3. The steam pressure is low, which makes the high-pressure nozzle easy to be blocked, resulting in poor combustion effect of fuel oil or natural gas. 4. Fuel quality, the water content or impurity content of the fuel is too high, resulting in large flow fluctuations and unstable combustion flames. 5. The pressure in the furnace should be adjusted to the optimal state. If the negative pressure in the furnace is too low (the suction is too large), a large amount of heat will be taken away; if the positive pressure in the furnace is too large, a large amount of flue gas will come out of the furnace mouth, affecting the environment and also affecting the service life of the furnace mouth.
Therefore, when it is found that the combustion effect of the rotary anode furnace is not as expected, the specific reasons can be checked from the above aspects.
