Smelting characteristics of rotary iron furnace 2

Release time:2024-04-29 16:12 Views:

Coke (petroleum coke and ordinary coke) is generally added into the furnace with the charge due to its low price, and is widely used as a carburizing agent for rotary iron furnaces. The coke added to the furnace along with the charge can not only dissolve into the molten metal to increase the carbon content, but also generate a certain amount of carbon monoxide in the high temperature and oxygen-deficient environment of the furnace, generating heat while reducing the oxidative atmosphere in the furnace.

Pure oxigen rotary iron melting furnace

The carburizing agent is added into the furnace along with the charge. The method is simple and is the most widely used. In addition, the powdery carburizer can also be blown into the molten iron using the blowing method. The carburizing agent used in the blowing method is generally electrode graphite, and the carburizing efficiency is relatively high, about 60% to 70%. Experience has proven that the later the carburizing agent is added to the furnace, the higher the carburizing efficiency will be. This is because the carburizing agent is in the furnace for a short time and has less oxidation and burning loss; at the same time, because the slag liquid present in the furnace in the later stage of melting has a covering effect on the molten metal, reducing the carbon burning loss.

Adjustment of the alloy composition in the pouring ladle: By adding carburizing agent to the pouring ladle, the carbon content in the molten iron can be adjusted in the range of 0.1% to 0.15%. This is because the temperature of the molten iron in the pouring ladle is already relatively low, and the carbon is here The solubility in liquid iron at high temperature is very small. Adding ferrosilicon and ferromanganese to the pouring ladle can easily increase the silicon and manganese content in the molten iron. The recovery rate of silicon and manganese elements in the pouring ladle can reach almost 80%.

Inoculation treatment: The crystallization core in the molten iron of the rotary iron furnace is generally less than that of the cupola furnace, and castings are prone to white spots and graphite defects. Before pouring the molten iron in the rotary iron furnace, it needs to be inoculated with ferrosilicon or electrode graphite with a particle size of 0.1~0.8mm in the ladle.

Combined with the previous article, the adjustment of the alloy composition in the ladle and the two angles of incubation and processing were added to comprehensively analyze the smelting characteristics of the rotary iron furnace, which plays a certain role in our understanding and better utilization of this furnace.
