The rotary refining copper melting furnace, also known as anode furnace, is specially used to process scrap copper (Cu 92% and above) to obtain copper anode (Cu 99%), which is further purified through electrolytic refining to produce 99.99% cathode copper. Copper cathodes can be initially processed into copper materials or copper alloys, and then processed into copper products or copper-containing parts according to the use needs and performance requirements of the final consumer product.
The rotary refining copper melting furnace is a cylindrical horizontal rotary furnace used to refine blister copper before anode casting, and then cast in the anode for final refining through copper electrolysis. Processing in the anode furnace includes oxidation and reduction. First, residual sulfur is removed through oxidation, and iron and nickel are oxidized into slag. The oxygen is then removed by reduction. Additionally, impurities such as lead, arsenic, and antimony can be removed by fluxing blister copper with appropriate fluxes. This oxidized copper is reduced to metal by natural gas, propane, LPG or heavy oil. The copper content of anode furnace products is approximately 99%. The anode furnace can also be used for scrap melting during operation. The benefits are reduced energy consumption, improved refining efficiency, cleaner waste gas production, and improved melting capacity.
The copper anode furnace consists of a furnace drum that can be pivoted about a horizontal axis, in which the copper melt is refined into anode copper by fire refining. The furnace drum is equipped with a nozzle for pouring out the fine copper. The discharge port of the furnace barrel is provided with a sliding cover. Sliding closures and fireproof sliding panels. Through the displacement of the sliding plate, the outflow of the furnace drum can be adjusted or closed, thereby controlling the outflow of copper. The use of sliding closures prevents slag from being drawn into the casting, thereby reducing anode quality.
Rotary refining copper melting furnaces are widely used in the copper electrolytic refining process, improving the quality and production efficiency of copper. However, it is necessary to pay attention to controlling parameters such as rotation speed to ensure the refining effect and the safe operation of the equipment.
